The High Court in Blantyre has overruled a preliminary objection in 𝑅𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑑 𝐴𝑏𝑑𝑢𝑙 𝐺𝑎𝑓𝑓𝑎𝑟 & 𝐴𝑙𝑒𝑥 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑚𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑎 𝑣 𝑉𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎 𝑃𝑒𝑚𝑝ℎ𝑜 𝑁𝑑𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑚𝑎 & 𝑀𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑤𝑖 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛.

Ndalama had argued that the petition challenging the 16 September 2025 parliamentary election results for Blantyre City South Lunzu by Gaffar and Chimwala was incompetent. However, the Court overruled the objection, emphasizing that justice must not be sacrificed under the altar of technicalities.

The case will now be heard in open Court on 3rd November 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
