The Malawi Judiciary is the branch of the Government of Malawi which interprets and applies the laws of Malawi to ensure equal justice under law and to provide a mechanism for dispute resolution. The Constitution defines the judiciary as a hierarchical system of courts, with the highest court being the Supreme Court of Appeal, together with the High Court and a number of Subordinate Courts. The Malawi Judiciary exists to serve all manner of people to access Justice and offer effective legal remedies. However, court processes are usually perceived as complexย and this affects how people can effectively access justice.
